about this web site and projects?
This web site is supported by Iseki laboratory of Tokyo University of Information Science (TUIS).

Abyss Observatory was opened in 2010 by Hajime Nishimura, Vianka Scorfield, comet Morigi and Rezago Kokorin hosted by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in Second Life (SL). It was taken over from NOAA to Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) in 2011, and has been operated by Nishimura since 2015 hosted by Kenneth Y T Lim (National Institute of Education, Singapore).
In OpenSim, Abyss started at Science Sim operated by Intel in 2011, moved to JOGrid operated by Fumikazu Iseki (Tokyo University of Information Science).

Gateway to Thinking, TelePortal for Education was opened by Nishimura and Akasha Kokuu in 2015 hosted by The ScienceCircle Foundation (SC), and Community Virtual Library (CVL) since 2020.

Orientation Tower for VW Educators (Virtual World Teacher Training Project) was opened by Nishimura, Natalie Nussli (Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz), Kevin Oh (University of San Francisco) and Gregory Perrier (Northern Virginia Community College) in 2016 hosted by SC, and Nonprofit Commons (NPC) since 2020.
