- このサイトは東京情報大学の井関研究室が運営するJOGrid（Japan Open Grid）のサポートサイトの下に設けられています。
アビス海文台は、Second Life (SL)内で米国立海洋大気庁 (NOAA)が維持していたSecond Earth 3で西村 一, Vianka Scorfield, comet Morigi及びRezago Kokorinによりオープンしたバーチャル海洋地球博物館。Second Earth 3は2011年にNOAAから海洋研究開発機構 (JAMSTEC) に引き継がれ、2015年にはKenneth Y T Lim (シンガポール国立教育研究所)が維持しているFarwellに移転した。
OpenSim Gridでは、2011年にインテルが運営していたScience Simでオープンし、2014年東京情報大学の井関研究室が運営するJOGrid に移転した。Gateway to Thinking, TelePortal for Educationは、西村とAkasha Kokuuが2015年にScienceCircle Foundation (SC)が維持するThe Science Circleでオープンした教育向け地域へのテレポートポータル。2020年にCommunity Virtual Library (CVL) が維持するCookieに移転した。
Orientation Tower for VW Educators (Virtual World Teacher Training Project) は、西村, Natalie Nussli (Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz), Kevin Oh (University of San Francisco) 及び Gregory Perrier (Northern Virginia Community College) が協力し、2016年にThe Science Circleでオープンした仮想空間を用いた教育者のチュートリアル施設。2020年にNonprofit Commons (NPC) が維持するAloft Nonprofit Commonsに移転した。

1984: 潜水調査船「しんかい6500」の開発 (科学技術庁, 現文科省)
1986: 地球規模気候変動研究プログラム (同上)
1988: 国際宇宙ステーションの日本実験モジュールの開発 (宇宙開発事業団, 現JAXA)
1995: 海洋地球研究船「みらい」（原子力船「むつ」の改造。JAMSTEC)
1997: 地球深部探査船「ちきゅう」の開発 (JAMSTEC)
2006: 水中ロボコン／水中ロボフェスの開始 (継続中)
2010: データ統合解析システム (DIAS)の担当 (JAMSTEC), Abyss Observatoryの開設。
2014: 近代博物館の開設。International Spaceflight Museum (ISM)への参加
2015: Gateway to Thinking, TelePortal for Educationの開設。The Science Circle Award 2015の受賞
2016: Orientation Tower for VW Educatorsの開設
2017: 人と科学の未来館「サイピア」で遠隔授業を開始（co2sos主催）
2019: Climate Change Learning Portalの開設（co2sos主催）
2020: TelePortal Tour seriesを開始（CVL主催）
